Nancy Valdez
Volunteer Coordinator
Nancy Valdez is the Coordinator of Volunteers, a post she also held from 2009-2011. A retired educator and a lifelong animal lover, she enjoys the opportunity to utilize many of her career skills to advocate for HSHA on a number of fronts.
The most rewarding aspects of the job are getting to know some of the shelter residents and seeing them find loving homes, as well as helping to educate the public about HSHA’s services and programs.
Nancy is a graduate of Central Dauphin High School, Penn State, and Temple. She lives locally with 3 cats (1 who found her and 2 who are 1999 HSHA alumni), a dog (a 2009 HSHA alumna), and a Parakeet. Her daughter and rescued grand-dogs live in California.
